'ROAD TO RIBBLEHEAD,' is about some of the people involved in the building of the last great railway line in Britain. It is based on the historical reality of the navvy settlements of a population of nearly two thousand at a place called Ribblehead in the Yorkshire Dales where a huge viaduct and tunnel had to be constructed. This is a novel in which passion and violence are major themes. Families are destroyed. Jealousy corrupts relationships and all of this is taking place in one of the most desolate, isolated areas in the North of England. 'ROAD TO RIBBLEHEAD,' shows the courage and determination of men who had to work in appalling conditions and the women and children who shared their lives. The books seeks to resurrect their memory and the dramatic circumstances in which they struggled.
